Skolkovo's $800,000 grant to Unicloud Labs announced

The Skolkovo Fund has approved an $800,000 grant to Unicloud Labs, a resident of IT-cluster, innovation and venture news source UNOVA reports.

The company develops “cloud” technologies to automate business processes.

The project goal is to offer to small and medium entrepreneurs an affordable and user-friendly platform with working services.

Total budget of this 12-month project is estimated at $1.1m.

“Emergence and distribution of such service will be in demand with many entrepreneurs and will very likely cause several local “revolutions”. Just like everybody uses email these days, it will be easy to fine-tune the whole interaction process between partners, contractors and executors, suppliers and buyers,” said Aleksander Turkot, executive director of the Skolkovo’s IT-cluster.

Unicloud Labs representatives admit that currently most offers at the IT-market are for large companies and governments structures, who are the most sustainable clients. At the same time, millions of small companies daily engage in sales, human resource, client relations and paperwork, and use information systems as an instrument for automating their existing processes. “With our platform and services we will suggest brand new opportunities, and will expand horizons for small and medium-sized business”, said Dmitry Torshin, general director of Unicloud Labs.

The Skolkovo innovation center is to become the largest 'test bench' for a new economic policy in Russia. The specially allocated territory outside Moscow is to provide special conditions for R&D in energy and energy efficient technologies, nuclear, space, biomedical and computer technologies.
